We hosted a ‘Kick-Off Event’ to mark the start of model construction at our planned community, Independence, located on the east side of Las Vegas. In an area predominantly occupied by renters, we are making homeownership possible for 1,600 families. 

Hal Smith Elementary School, located just a mile from Independence, is home to 90% of renters- students and teachers alike. The development of this community will allow these families the opportunity to own their own homes, a dream made possible by the affordability we offer. The homes are anticipated to start in the 200’s and will include all the same options that you've come to expect from Touchstone Living. Builder pays all closing costs, includes upgraded Samsung® stainless steel appliances, washer/dryer, window blinds, granite countertops, wi-fi enabled garage door openers, Energy Star efficiency, parks, pools, playgrounds, walking trails and so much more! Independence will also be an all-solar community. Each home will come equipped with solar panels to offset rising electric costs, saving homeowners money each month.

To commemorate this event, a time capsule was created which included a signed drone image of the future community today, along with predictions, hopes, and well wishes for Independence. Representatives from Nevada Housing, Loan Depot, Sunnova, and numerous Touchstone Living team members were also there to show their support. Our President, Tom McCormick, and Commissioner Tick Segerblom were on hand to provide an update on the project and share new community information.
